Waipipi School

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Sasha Maya as a highly skilled and versatile artist and designer. Sasha recently completed the design of our rural school signage, and the results were outstanding.

Sasha’s communication skills are second to none. She is warm, friendly, and incredibly easy to work with. What truly sets her apart is her ability to actively listen. She ensures your ideas are heard and thoughtfully integrates your vision into every step of the design process through regular consultation and collaboration.

Sasha is an exceptional artist with talents spanning a wide range of areas, including website design, school van signage, murals, logos, and general branding. Her creative flair, attention to detail, and professionalism are evident in everything she produces.

I fully recommend Sasha to any school or business looking to uplift their image and create a strong, visually appealing brand. You’ll be in expert hands.

logo.

Waipipi School were looking to update their logo as well as having a full visual story / branding created for them. The logo design focussed on the local landmark of the community hall, the agricultural community the school is part of, as well as the pipi bank and estuary Waipipi gets it’s name from.

visual story | branding

The themes of Waipipi School’s visual story / branding included the school’s love of their pets & domestic animals, the farming / lifestyle block community the school is a part of, references to the location (Waipipi being named after the large bank of pipi on the side of the estuary), and the long established school & community.  The artwork was used for wayfinding and signs around the school.

murals | field & entranceway.

Waipipi School wanted a large mural with the theme of their love of pets & integrated with their visual story / branding. It celebrates the west coast, the pipi bank Waipipi gets it’s name from, and the agricultural community the school is part of. Waipipi wanted intense bright colours and it’s proven very effective with the mural greeting visitors from some distance as they round the crest of the hill driving towards the school.

The artwork was also extended to the archway that greets visitors to the school from the car park – making for a striking welcome to the school.

values.

The school values were on a sign in front of the office and needed updating. So I designed values icons using the theme of domesticated animals, and visually tying in with the school’s visual story / branding.

 celebrating 150 years.

In 2023 Waipipi School is celebrating 150 years. They wanted a version of their logo, and a large sign they could use to commemorate the occasion.
